Day 1 - TULEAR / SALARIES (120 km)
The discovery of the West starts today. Start early in the morning. Along the West Coast, it passes through the villages of Ifaty, Manambo and employees. The dirt road runs along one of the longest coral reefs of Madagascar (the second in the world after Australia), the beautiful lagoon of Ranobe. Vezo villages you will find a people rich in tradition: fishermen for generations, changing the Vezo tirelessly at the pleasure of wind in their canoes close to balance. Picnic lunch in the middle of the stage. Arriving late in the day. Night and dinner in bivouac (camping).

Day 2 - SALARA / ANDAVADOAKA (80 km)

The trail leaves the coast, sandy track close, for several kilometers through a forest dry before reaching the village of Befandefa. Again, the horizon opens up the wide open spaces against the backdrop of the unusual form of baobabs: Andansonia, Zaha ... A frank and clear track to reach Andavadoaka. Picnic lunch en route. Arrive early afternoon Andavadoaka. Night and dinner at the hotel in this wonderful bay. Relay bush, built with local materials, however, the bungalows are clean and comfortable.

Day 3 - ANDAVADOAKA

Day of relaxation and discovering the bay using canoes Vezo. Full board at the hotel.





Day 4 - ANDAVADOAKA / MANJI (210 km)

A long stage requiring a departure early in the morning. A track-wheels and plotted to reach Morombe, and major city once the point of cabotage. Today only a few small dhows stop there. Morombe transition to the morning for refueling and fresh produce. The journey of the most uncomfortable journey along a forty kilometers along National Route 9, or at least what remains. Picnic lunch before or after crossing the river Mangoky which will tray. Then again the runway before joining our bivouac place just before the charming town of Manja. Day 5 - MANJI / BELO SUR MER (120 km)

Step quiet without too much difficulty. Unforgettable: immensity of salt that we are cautiously before joining the fishing village of Belo where it also manufactures dhows. Lunch and dinner at the Lodge in Belo-Sur-Mer. The hotel is enchanting and tasteful combining the traditional materials of the region and comfort.


Day 6 - BELO SUR MER / MORONDAVA (90 km)

Liaison morning to Morondava. Initially Belo, surrounded by salt, it is compulsory to wait for low tide to regain the track Morondava: it must sometimes wait until the morning (the risk is real, water infiltration sea during high tide makes the sub-salt layer unstable, and even though the surface crust remains firm on foot, it barely supports only the weight of a 4x4).

Once out of the saline, a beautiful dirt road 40 km leads to the river Morondava. A little stop to recognize the most logical place to ford a crossing in safety. According to the departure time of Belo or picnic lunch en route or lunch at the restaurant Morondava.

This tour can be combined with the descent or ascent of Tulear in Antananarivo. 600 km of scenery you will find very isolated areas of Madagascar. Few circuits are programmed in this part of the island, allowing a contact yet with a rich people always curious about "outsider". Region high contrast and colorful. A varied vegetation on the whole circuit. State tracks: major part in both smooth but still a runway used by coastal carts, more painful. Rivers to cross fording or tray. Compared to a conventional circuit: less comfort, more dust, a total autonomy (2 nights in a tent, dinner on a wood fire.) But also more sensations, more authenticity, more adventure ... A certain philosophy of travel is strongly recommended. 6 days, the effort is hardly superhuman and lack of comfort is more than offset by the grandeur of nature so little common around you.

The circuit is achievable during the period from April to late November, we recommend the period from May to July.
